Build a report once at the diocese level and share it with every parish.
Camino now gives dioceses a way to create parish level reports and make them available to every parish they manage. Whether you want a duplicate household check, a standard cleanup list, or any other report a parish can run, you can now set it up one time, control how much a parish can change, and let each parish run it for themselves.
Turn it on with rights
Diocese Reports needs rights enabled at both the diocese and the parish level.
At the diocese: “Ability to Create Reports for all Parishes”
Note: System Administrator roles should already have it turned on.
At the parish: “Ability to view Diocese Managed Parish Reports”
Enable the ability to view diocese managed parish reports on the administration roles that should see these reports.
Once both are on, a new Parish Report Admin option appears under Reporting for the diocese.
Create a report for your parishes
In Parish Report Admin, choose a report type and build it just like any other Parish report. In our example we used Duplicate Households Checking, set the fields we wanted to see, sorted by Duplicate Group ID and Head Last Name, and set the Max Weight Pct criteria filter. Any report available to a parish can be set up this way. Example Diocese Shared Report
What parishes see
Parishes with the right enabled will see a new Diocese Reports option under Reporting. It lists every report the diocese has saved. Locked criteria appear grayed out because the parish cannot edit them.Parish View
If a filter was left unlocked, the parish can change it and save its own version. That change is saved at the parish level only. It does not alter the diocese report, and other parishes continue to see the original.
Decide what parishes can change
Each criteria filter has a lock button. Locked filters are view only for parishes, so every parish runs the report exactly as you designed it. If you want parishes to adjust the final entry of a filter, such as a threshold value, unlock that filter.
Diocese Reports also includes a Documents tab for system documents. If there is a merge field document you want parishes to use, place it there and it will be available to them. Only diocese level administrators can add or edit system documents; parish level users cannot.
Parish copy options
If you're report was a template to help parishes get started but they want to adjust and tweak it further than the restrictions allow they will always have the option to Copy Report and save it to their own Parish's report section. This will allow them to edit all fields, criteria, and sorting options from the main report that you built for them.
