Diocese Level Update
Camino Updates - Diocese Directories
Diocese Directory Module
Camino is introducing Diocese level directories for its Diocese customers. These will work within Camino as well as Camino Life. The following information will guide you through how to access, create, and view Directories within Camino!
Adding the Right for Directories:
First the user must have access to the directory module. This is added within the Roles screen. There is a new right called "Ability to create and edit Chancery Directories" with the "CHANCERY" Type. Select this right and move it add it to the roles you'd like to be able to create and edit directories.

Once the user has access to directories, upon a refresh, there will be a new "Directories" option under Administration. Upon clicking this tab we are able to create our own Directory.

Directory Creation:
With this you can create a variety of directory types, including Priest, Diaconate, or Staff. For this Example we will show a Basic Priest directory but know you are able to customize these to best suit your needs.
First we must enter a Directory Name, a description is optional but often useful for documenting purposes.
Once those are complete we have to select the "Directory Member Categories." These will be the Diocese level categories we want to be show in this specific directory. Since we're creating a Priest directory we will select Priest as the only category.

The next two selection criteria required are the members we are going to allow to view this directory. The first is "Directory Viewer Categories." What categories of members within Camino do we want to have access to view this directory.

The second view selection criteria is what Camino Roles do we want to have access to this directory. These two selections use OR logic, meaning users who are either within the role OR within the category will have access.

Next we can choose to include Photos for this directory by checking the "Include Photo" box. We must then select if we are wanting to include the Household or Member profile photo for this directory.

Finally we come to the option to "Exclude Specific Members." If there are specific users in our database that are within the chose "Directory Member Categories" that we don't want to appear in this directory we have the option to manually exclude them. When searching only members who fit that chosen category will appear.

Now we come to Directory Fields. On the right side of the page there is a list of the types of fields we'd like to include in our directory. Each field has an include checkbox as well as a "Viewable by" section when the field is selected. The options that appear for "viewable by" are the previous selections for both the Viewer Categories and the Viewer Roles.

After those decisions have been made we can save the Directory in the top right corner. Upon save though we are presented with one more option. This option only appears if "Primary Assignment" was a selected field. If for a specific directory you would prefer to show an assignment that isn't their primary assignment you are able to select that here for individual members of the Directory.
Example: If a priest within your diocese has a primary pastoral assignment as well as an assignment within the chancery you want want the parish assignment listed in the priest directory but the Chancery assignment listed in the staff directory. This area gives you the freedom to make that selection.

Viewing the Directories:
In Camino:
Created Directories can be viewed by any of the members who have Categories or Roles that were selected in the creation process. There are two places these directories can be viewed: Camino and Camino Life. We will start with the Camino database and the selected Roles first.
Since these are diocese level directories if your account has a diocese level role has a directory that is set to be viewable by your role it will now show up in the module selection screen between Community Members and Communications. If there are no viewable directories for your role, this module will not show up.
When selected all viewable directories will appear under this module. Selecting a directory will bring it up on the main screen. You will be presented with a list of the members of the directory you've selected. Selecting any of those individual members will then bring up their directory information on the right side of the screen.

In Camino Life:
Directories can also be viewed within Camino life by members who are within the diocese level categories and or roles selected for each Directory. This includes both Camino Office Users as well as Non-Camino Office users. Allowing directories to be set up as well for parishioners using their Camino Life account.
Since roles are a user setting and not a categories setting there is a new field under "Users" which allows the user to be linked to a specific member. This helps keep users and members associated since often times our users are set up with work email address, while Camino Life members will often be using their personal email address. This way our Camino users can still set up their own Camino Life accounts with their member profiles associations.

In Camino Life if the user has access to any directories there will be a tab at the end of their top toolbar labeled "Chancery Directories." When selected they will be presented with a pulldown bar of all the directories available to them.

Once the directory is selected it will work just as it does in Camino, giving a list of the members on the left with the selection bring up the member's information on the right.

Important Final Note: Directories are not currently avaliable with in the app as there is an approval process by both Apple's App Store and Android's Play Store. We expect Directories to be functional within the week.
