Every Formation class runs through the same registration form underneath. What actually changes is the person filling it out; specifically, whether their Camino Life account is already linked to a household on file. This walks through both versions of that experience, start to finish.

Every class row on the Formation Classes list has a link icon under URL — click it and Camino copies that class's direct registration link to your clipboard, ready to drop into an email or bulletin.

There's also a general link at the top of the Formation Classes page, next to the page title, that opens a single registration page listing every open class, handy for a 'browse all our programs' link instead of pointing to one class at a time. This link also allows families to register their whole family at once to one or multiple different classes giving our Catholic Families the most efficient registration possible.

When a registrant clicks that link and one of two things happens. Someone with no linked account (or registering for the first time) starts from a blank form and fills in everything by hand. Someone whose account is already linked to a household on file gets a head start — Camino already knows who they are.

Families land on a clean Formation Registration page with a step tracker down the left side. If they're logged in, Registrant section defaults to  'Not in this list'.  From there, First Name and Class Name are all it takes. When using the overall link they will have the ability to select any of the classes open at the parish. If it was a specific class link that will be auto populated unable to be changed.

Step 2 collects the household's basic info: last name, phone, email, and full address, since Camino has no record to draw from yet. They will go through and fill out the form as required from how the Camino Formation Form was built. 

Conditional fields still work live — answering Yes to Want a Shirt immediately reveals a Shirt Size dropdown — and Emergency Contact fields, consent checkboxes, and medical care consent language all appear right where they were placed in the form builder. Clicking Baptized? Will allow the user to fill out all the Baptism information that they know.

If the class has a cost, a Cost step shows the line item and Grand Total, plus a Discount Code field for anyone with a code from a parish discount.

The last step is Finalize — a reminder to review everything above before clicking Register. Every completed step shows a checkmark, and each one is clickable, so it's easy to jump back and fix something first.

A linked account doesn't land on a bare registration form. It opens inside the full Camino Life Parish Portal, with a navigation bar for Dashboard, Household, each household member by name, Contributions, Pledges, Documents, and Events, alongside Formation. Registration is just one piece of a much bigger picture of the family's parish life.

The biggest difference shows up immediately: the Registrant dropdown isn't empty. It's pre-populated with every person already on the household record — parents, kids, everyone — with 'Not in this list' still available at the bottom for anyone new.

Add Another Registration adds a new Registrant/Class row with no limit on how many can stack up — a linked household can register several people for several classes in one pass. Each row becomes its own step later in the process, named after the registrant. The same person can even be registered for more than one class in a single visit, though Camino won't allow the same person into the same class twice.

Once a registrant's own step opens, the payoff becomes obvious: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Gender are already filled in from the household's Camino record. Nothing to retype. It goes further than the basics, too. If a sacrament like Baptism is already on file, that section arrives checked and dated, right down to the church it happened at and that church's address: no searching, no retyping.

Note: This is the payoff of building a form with Camino Member Assets instead of Standard Controls. Every asset — Baptism, First Communion, Medical Conditions, Occupation, and the rest — is tied to real member data, so for a linked household it arrives already answered. A custom Standard Controls field like Want a Shirt has no such record to pull from, so it always starts blank.

Not every field can be pre-filled, any custom fields added during the form creation process will be blank, and if set as such may require an input. If a required field on any step gets skipped, Camino flags it right in the step tracker with a warning icon and a 'Missing required fields' note, so it's easy to spot exactly which registrant needs a second look before submitting.

Once Register goes through — for either kind of account — the family gets an emailed receipt for their records: the class, participant name, location, full date range and time, and cost, laid out clearly under a Registration heading. If a household registers more than one person or class in the same visit, each one gets its own numbered Registration section in the same email.
