Camino Updates - August 2026

Parish Registration Hot Link Direct for Camino Life
Instead of having your parishioners search through a long list of parishes to find yours, you can go to Administration → Parish and copy the registration link. You can then share this link directly with your parishioners, allowing them to go straight to your parish’s registration page.

Making Exact Duplicate Merges more clear
Previously, when merging duplicate records, if all of the information was identical, the merge screen would not display a preview of the data. We have now updated the merge process to show a preview of all available data, even when the information is the same on both records. This makes it easier to review the records and clearly see what information will be included in the final merged record.

Adding Sortable Users Columns to Users Screen
You can now sort user information directly from the Users screen, making it easier to find and organize users.
To sort the list, simply hover over a column header and click the column name. You can sort by Email, First Name, Last Name, Role, and other available columns.

Building your Formation Class

Building a Formation Class in Camino

Setting up a new Formation class in Camino takes just a few minutes once you know where everything lives. Whether it's a Sunday morning session, your Grade School Prep classes, or a full OCIA program, the same New Class form covers it. Here's a walk-through of building one from scratch.

Find the Classes List
Head to Formation > Classes in the left-hand navigation. This is your master list of every class in the system, active and inactive; with class size, catechist, and status at a glance. Click ADD NEW CLASS in the top right to start.
The Formation Classes list, with ADD NEW CLASS in the top right.
Name the Class and Set Its Size
Give the class a clear, descriptive name; this is what families will see when they browse or register. Set a Max Class Size if you want to cap enrollment, a Max size of ‘0’ signals Camino that there is no limit. Use the checkboxes to mark a class Inactive or flag it as being for adults (handy for things like RCIA or adult Bible study).

Set the Dates
Start Date and End Date define the life of the class. Camino automatically calculates the Class Period from those dates; for example, a class running September through the following February is tagged 2026/2027; so there's nothing to fill in there yourself.

Add Location, Room, and Cost
Location and Room Number are both free text, so use whatever naming your parish already relies on. If there's a fee to attend, enter it under Cost. Need to offer a reduced rate for some families? The Discounts panel right below it lists any discounts already tied to the class; or lets you know there aren't any yet. The Discounts can be set up and associated in the Discount section under Formation.

Set the Meeting Time
Start Time and End Time set the actual meeting window for each session. Tap either field to open the time picker.
Class Creation Details
NOTE: Course Description and Notes are both optional but worth a sentence or two — the description can surface on public-facing registration pages, and notes are a good spot for anything staff-only, like a reminder to confirm a catechist's background check.

Schedule and Catechist
Before Camino can generate a schedule, it needs to know the pattern. Scroll down on the Formation Class tab to Frequency, choose Weekly or Monthly, set Every or Every Other, and pick the Day of the Week. Click CREATE SCHEDULE when the pattern's set. This is the foundation of the class schedule. We will be able to modify and add details

Class Catechists lives right next to it. Add each catechist, assign a Role, and mark one as primary.

Save and You're Done

Hit SAVE and Camino assigns the class an ID number, and a full set of tabs appear: Formation Class, Online Registration, Class Schedule, Roster, and Attendance. Everything you'll manage from here on out.
The saved class, now with its ID and full set of management tabs.
Want to let families register and pay online? That's a separate step, covered in our Online Registration for Formation Classes guide. It lives right in the Online Registration tab you see above.

Setting Up Formation Online Registration

Building a Custom Online Registration Form

Camino is happy to introduce a custom form editor for your Formation Registrations. No more expensive third party form builders and separate links. You can now build the report that you need and use as much Camino Life integration as desired.

Start with Registration Details
The Registration Details sub-tab still handles the basics: Allow Online Registration, a Disable toggle for pausing it temporarily without losing your settings, and the registration date range and hours.
Registration Details with the base toggles — Web Payments not yet enabled.
Checking Allow Web Payments reveals Require payment to register along with Web Payment Provider, Fund, and Activity so payment only gets configured when a class actually needs it. When this is selected if you have a Web Payment provider already set up it will be available to select as well as the fund and activity locations you want to pull the payments into.

You will have the option to require payment to register as well. This will not let a registration be submitted with out payment being submitted first. If this isn't checked the registrant will have the option to submit their registration with or without payment.
Web Payments enabled, with Require payment to register, Fund, and Activity set.

Open the Form Builder

Switch to the Registration Form sub-tab and the real editor appears: a live preview of the form on the left, and two panels on the right. Camino Member Assets are pre-built fields tied to actual member data — drop one in and it doesn't just add a text box, it builds out a whole structured section depending on the field. Standard Controls are blank building blocks — text fields, dropdowns, dates, currency, consent agreements — for anything that isn't already a Camino field that you need to collect for your registration.
The Registration Form builder — Member Information and Baptism sections already in place.

Example: Dragging First Communion in from Camino Member Assets, for example, builds an entire section, the received-or-not question, date, church name, and full church address, in one drop.

Configure Any Field
Click a field and the Properties panel opens on the right. Every field gets a Label, an optional Tooltip, and a Width (how much of the row it takes up). Consent Agreement fields go further, with a full rich-text editor for the exact consent language families will read and agree to before registering.

Show Fields Conditionally
Show Conditionally is where the builder gets genuinely powerful. Turn it on for any field and set a rule — Show only if [another field] Is Equal To [value] — and that field only appears when the condition is met.
A Shirt Size dropdown set to appear only if 'Want a Shirt' is answered Yes.
In this example, a Want a Shirt dropdown sits on the form normally, but the Shirt Size dropdown next to it stays hidden until someone actually selects Yes — so families who don't want a shirt never see a pointless size question.

Preview Exactly What Families See

The screen/mobile icons above the builder switch between desktop and mobile previews, and clicking into the form opens the full Class Information view — everything a family sees before they even start filling anything out: dates, times, location, cost, course description, then Student Information and every section you've built, in order.
The live preview — exactly what a family sees when they open the registration link.
Scroll to the bottom of the preview and the Cost section shows a Discount Code field, the Grand Total, a Comments box, and the final Pay Now / Register buttons — the very end of the family's registration experience.

Quick Reference

•          Disable Online Registration — Pauses registration temporarily without losing your settings
•          Allow Web Payments — Reveals Web Payment Provider, Fund, and Activity when checked
•          Camino Member Assets — Pre-built, structured sections tied to real member data
•          Standard Controls — Blank fields for anything custom — text, dropdown, date, consent, etc.
•          New Row — Adds a blank two-column row to build custom questions
•          Properties panel — Every field's Label, Tooltip, and column Width
•          Show Conditionally — Hides or shows a field based on another field's answer
•          Live Preview — Exactly what a family sees before registering, desktop or mobile

Formation Schedules and Rosters

Scheduling Sessions and Building Your Class Roster

Once a Formation class is built, two tabs do most of the ongoing work: Class Schedule and Roster. Schedule generates every session for the term in one click and lets you adjust individual dates; Roster is where you see the students enrolled, or manually add them yourself. Here's how both work.

Set the Recurrence
Before we can edit the schedule it had to be created in the Formation Class Frequency Section. Once that was created and saved we get a Class Schedule Tab.
Class Frequency

Review the Generated Schedule
Head to the Class Schedule tab and Camino has already built out every session for the class, grouped by month, from the recurrence pattern you set. Each row shows the Session Date, with room for a Topic and Notes.

Fine-Tune Individual Sessions
Every session can be adjusted on its own. Click Edit next to any date to change the Session Date itself, add a Topic, or leave Notes; handy for flagging a guest speaker or a special activity for that week. Need to cancel a session for a holiday? Edit brings up a Delete option too.
Schedule with an Added Topic and a One-Off Additional Session.

The recurrence pattern won't cover everything. A make-up class, a special event, whatever doesn't fit the regular weekly slot. Use Add New at the top of the Class Schedule tab to drop in a one-off session on any date, independent of the recurring pattern.

Enroll Students in the Roster

The Roster tab is where the class actually fills up. If you do your registrations by paper or need to enter a student manually this is where it’s done.

Search for a student by name, set their Status (Enrolled, Waitlisted, etc.), and their information will be brought over: Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, or Confirmation date. Other information will be required to be entered by the user: Consents, Emergency Contact Information, notes, etc.
Roster Registration Entry

Note: If you have set up a custom registration form through online registration any custom fields will show up below to be filled in by the Camino User.
Custom Field Entry
AT the bottom SAVE AND NEW commits the student and immediately clears the form for the next one;  handy for enrolling a whole family or class list back to back. Once saved, each student shows up in the Members list on the left with a running Present / Absent / Tardy count, which feeds directly into the Attendance tab.
Large Class Roster

NOTE: Need the roster outside of Camino — for a sign-in sheet or a mail merge? EXPORT TO CSV in the top right downloads the full class list in seconds.

Quick Reference:

•          Frequency / Recurrence — Weekly or Monthly pattern that generates the term's sessions
•          Class Catechists — Assigned catechists and their roles for the class
•          Class Schedule tab — Auto-built list of sessions from the recurrence pattern
•          Edit — Per-session date, topic, and notes — editable or deletable
•          Add New — Adds a session outside the normal recurring pattern
•          Roster tab — Where students are enrolled and their info is recorded
•          Save and New — Commits a student and clears the form for the next one
•          Export to CSV — Downloads the full class roster as a spreadsheet

Formation Discounts

Setting Up Discounts for Formation Classes

Early-bird pricing, sibling discounts, scholarship codes, a class that's simply free to for Clergy: Camino handles all of it through one Discounts screen. A discount is built once and can be attached to as many classes as you like. Here's how it works.

Find the Discounts Screen
Head to Formation > Discounts. This is the master list of every discount your parish has set up, whether or not it's currently active. Click ADD NEW DISCOUNT to build one.
The Formation Class Discounts list, with ADD NEW DISCOUNT in the top right.

Name It and Describe It
Discount Code is the short identifier — think EARLYBIRD or FREEREG — and Discount Description is the plain-language explanation families and staff will actually read. Enabled is checked by default; leave it that way for now. If you ever need to disable a code but don't want to delete it, this can be unchecked at anytime.

Set the Type, Amount, and Window
Discount Type is either Percent or Amount. Percent takes a whole number (10 for 10% off), Amount takes a flat dollar figure. Start Date and End Date are optional — set them for something time-limited like an early registration window, or leave both blank for a discount that's always available while enabled.

Flat-dollar discounts work the same way, just with Discount Type set to Amount instead. A $10 off code, for example, subtracts a fixed amount regardless of what the class costs.
A new discount being named
Choose Which Classes It Applies To
Below the discount details, Available Classes lists every class in the system. Check the ones this discount should apply to — or check the header box to select them all — and click Add to move them into Classes Using This Discount. A discount with no classes attached won't show up anywhere for families to use.
Class Application Section

Turn a Discount Off Without Deleting It
Plans change — a promo code ends, a scholarship fund runs dry. Rather than deleting a discount outright, uncheck Enabled on its detail page and Save. It stays in your records with its full history, just inactive. The Discounts list shows enabled and disabled discounts side by side, so it's always clear what's currently live.

Every discount tied to a class also shows up right on that class's Formation Class tab, in its own Discounts panel — code, type, amount, and dates, all in one place, with a checkbox to enable or disable it for that class specifically.
Discounts shown in the Class Details Screen

Quick Reference

•          Discounts screen — Formation > Discounts, the master list of every discount
•          Discount Code — Short identifier families and staff will recognize
•          Discount Type — Percent (whole number, e.g. 10) or Amount (flat dollar figure)
•          Start Date / End Date — Optional: leave blank for an always-available discount
•          Classes Using This Discount — Move classes here so the discount actually applies somewhere
•          Full discount — A 100% Percent discount, the way to make a class free
•          Enabled — Uncheck instead of deleting to preserve history

Processing Your Formation Online Registrations

Processing Online Registrations

Once families start registering online, every submission lands in one place: Formation > Online Registration. This is the parish-wide queue; separate from any single class, where staff review what came in, match it to existing records, and confirm it into the system.

The Three Tabs
Pending Registrations holds everything waiting for staff review. Completed Registrations is the archive of everything already processed. Data Review is a third tab available for deeper auditing.

Selecting any registrant on the left opens a detail panel on the right showing that class's Confirmed Registrants, Pending Confirmations, and Total Registered at a glance.
Pending Registrations, with Class Information summary on the right.

Match the Registrant to a Member Record
Click any pending registrant and Camino tries to help right away — for a submitted Registration it may show a Suggested Member ID, a best-guess match against an existing household member already in your database.
A completed registration with a Suggested Member ID already identified.

Other times it may be blank and require direct input from the Camino User. For these pending registrations, the Member field works as a live search. Start typing a name and Camino surfaces existing matches to link to.
Searching and matching a registrant to their existing member record.

Review What the Family Submitted
Below the member match, the full registration is laid out: preferred name, gender, date of birth, contact info, and sacramental dates. Notes and consent checkboxes; permission to take photos, medical care consent, parish membership, and photo/media consent; show exactly what the family agreed to online.

Note: Any custom questions you added to the registration form — sacramental status, dietary needs, etc. — show up right below the standard fields as Custom Registration Fields, exactly as the family answered them.

Check the Household Details
Camino also pulls in the household information from the submission — address, head and co-head names, phone, and email — so staff can confirm it matches (or spot a new household that needs to be created).
Household details submitted with the registration.
Confirm, Delete, or Cancel
Once everything checks out, three buttons at the bottom of the panel decide what happens next: CONFIRM ONLINE REGISTRATION finalizes it and moves the registrant onto the class roster, DELETE removes the submission entirely, and CANCEL closes the panel without making a change.

Quick Reference

•          Formation > Online Registration — The parish-wide queue for every online class registration
•          Pending Registrations — Submissions waiting for staff to review and confirm
•          Completed Registrations — The archive of everything already processed
•          Suggested Member ID — Camino's best-guess existing record for a registrant
•          Member field — Live search to link a registrant to an existing household member
•          Custom Registration Fields — Any parish-specific questions added to the registration form
•          Confirm Online Registration — Finalizes the registration and adds the registrant to the class roster

Camino Formation Registrant Experience

Understanding your Registrants Camino Formation Registration Experience

Every Formation class runs through the same registration form underneath. What actually changes is the person filling it out; specifically, whether their Camino Life account is already linked to a household on file. This walks through both versions of that experience, start to finish.

Getting the Link to Families
Every class row on the Formation Classes list has a link icon under URL — click it and Camino copies that class's direct registration link to your clipboard, ready to drop into an email or bulletin.

There's also a general link at the top of the Formation Classes page, next to the page title, that opens a single registration page listing every open class, handy for a 'browse all our programs' link instead of pointing to one class at a time. This link also allows families to register their whole family at once to one or multiple different classes giving our Catholic Families the most efficient registration possible.
Copy Registration URL, available on every class row.

Two Starting Points, One Form

When a registrant clicks that link and one of two things happens. Someone with no linked account (or registering for the first time) starts from a blank form and fills in everything by hand. Someone whose account is already linked to a household on file gets a head start — Camino already knows who they are.

Starting Fresh: No Linked Account

Families land on a clean Formation Registration page with a step tracker down the left side. If they're logged in, Registrant section defaults to  'Not in this list'.  From there, First Name and Class Name are all it takes. When using the overall link they will have the ability to select any of the classes open at the parish. If it was a specific class link that will be auto populated unable to be changed.
Step 1: Person to Register, with the Registrant and Class Name fields.

Step 2 collects the household's basic info: last name, phone, email, and full address, since Camino has no record to draw from yet. They will go through and fill out the form as required from how the Camino Formation Form was built.

Conditional fields still work live — answering Yes to Want a Shirt immediately reveals a Shirt Size dropdown — and Emergency Contact fields, consent checkboxes, and medical care consent language all appear right where they were placed in the form builder. Clicking Baptized? Will allow the user to fill out all the Baptism information that they know.
Baptism Fields
If the class has a cost, a Cost step shows the line item and Grand Total, plus a Discount Code field for anyone with a code from a parish discount.

The last step is Finalize — a reminder to review everything above before clicking Register. Every completed step shows a checkmark, and each one is clickable, so it's easy to jump back and fix something first.
Finalize and Register

Already Linked to a Household

A linked account doesn't land on a bare registration form. It opens inside the full Camino Life Parish Portal, with a navigation bar for Dashboard, Household, each household member by name, Contributions, Pledges, Documents, and Events, alongside Formation. Registration is just one piece of a much bigger picture of the family's parish life.

The biggest difference shows up immediately: the Registrant dropdown isn't empty. It's pre-populated with every person already on the household record — parents, kids, everyone — with 'Not in this list' still available at the bottom for anyone new.
The Registrant dropdown, pre-filled with existing household members.

Add Another Registration adds a new Registrant/Class row with no limit on how many can stack up — a linked household can register several people for several classes in one pass. Each row becomes its own step later in the process, named after the registrant. The same person can even be registered for more than one class in a single visit, though Camino won't allow the same person into the same class twice.
Multiple household members queued up for different classes in one session.

Once a registrant's own step opens, the payoff becomes obvious: First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Gender are already filled in from the household's Camino record. Nothing to retype. It goes further than the basics, too. If a sacrament like Baptism is already on file, that section arrives checked and dated, right down to the church it happened at and that church's address: no searching, no retyping.

Note: This is the payoff of building a form with Camino Member Assets instead of Standard Controls. Every asset — Baptism, First Communion, Medical Conditions, Occupation, and the rest — is tied to real member data, so for a linked household it arrives already answered. A custom Standard Controls field like Want a Shirt has no such record to pull from, so it always starts blank.

Not every field can be pre-filled, any custom fields added during the form creation process will be blank, and if set as such may require an input. If a required field on any step gets skipped, Camino flags it right in the step tracker with a warning icon and a 'Missing required fields' note, so it's easy to spot exactly which registrant needs a second look before submitting.
A missing-fields warning flagged directly on the step tracker.

The Confirmation Email

Once Register goes through — for either kind of account — the family gets an emailed receipt for their records: the class, participant name, location, full date range and time, and cost, laid out clearly under a Registration heading. If a household registers more than one person or class in the same visit, each one gets its own numbered Registration section in the same email.
Example registration confirmation email a family receives after clicking Register.

Quick Reference

•          Copy Registration URL — Per-class link on the Formation Classes list, pre-fills that class
•          General registration link — Lists every open class on one page for families to browse
•          Starting fresh — Blank fields, typed in by hand — used for new or unlinked registrants
•          Linked Camino Life portal — Dashboard, household members, Pledges, and more — registration is one tab among many
•          Registrant dropdown — Pre-populated with existing household members instead of starting blank
•          Multiple registrations — Add Another Registration queues up unlimited registrant/class pairs
•          Pre-filled fields — Name, birthdate, gender, and recorded sacraments carry over automatically for linked accounts
•          Why it works — Only Camino Member Assets fields auto-populate — custom Standard Controls fields don't
•          Conditional fields — Fields like Shirt Size that only appear based on another answer, for any account type
•          Missing required fields — Warns exactly which step still needs attention before Register can be clicked
•          Confirmation email — Emailed receipt with class, participant, location, dates, and cost

ParishSOFT Accounting requires imported files to follow a specific column layout, with no header row:
Set Up Accounting Fields on the Parish Fund
For the correct accounting information to appear on your ParishSOFT Accounting Import, you'll first need to
enter it in Camino under the Parish Funds section. The steps below walk through that setup, followed by how to
generate and download the report.
Add Accounting Codes to Each Activity
Once Accounting Fields are enabled, each Activity under the fund will display a set of accounting code fields. This
report specifically uses three of these fields:

Camino Updates - August 2026

Household and Member PDF Fact Sheets Now Available on Household and Member Pages
You can now export household and member information directly from any household or member profile. Simply select Print/Export Record, and the information will be downloaded as a PDF.
Duplicate Contributions with different check numbers no longer show the duplicate warning message in Batch Contributions.
When entering contributions, the system will no longer display a duplicate warning if the check numbers are different. This update ensures that contributions are only flagged as potential duplicates when there is an exact match, which helps reduce alerts and makes data entry easier.

Events Registration Section

Events – Registration

Once you've created an event, it will appear under the Event Registration tab. This is your home base for managing everything related to who's signed up, who's pending, and what still needs your attention. The Registration Tab
Registration Tab

Click into any event to see its full registration details. The Registration tab shows every family whose registration has been accepted. The information present includes:
  • Camino Household ID (if linked to your database)
  • Registrant names and number of attendees
  • Event cost and balance due
  • Contact information
Each registration row also includes four action icons on the right:
  • View Registration — Opens the form exactly as the registrant submitted it, so you can review their responses at any time.
  • Mark as Paid — Records payment once a registrant has settled their balance.
  • Cancel Registration — Allows you to cancel a registration on behalf of your parish or diocese.
  • Link to Camino Life — Manually links an unlinked registrant to a household and member record in your Camino database.
The Pending Tab
The Pending tab shows registrations that are waiting for your approval. All the same action icons are available here, with one difference: instead of Mark as Paid, you'll see an Approve Registration button. Clicking it accepts the registration and moves that person to the Registered tab.
If your event has a waitlist enabled and it reaches capacity, waitlisted registrants will also appear here.
Pending Tab

The Data Review Tab
The Data Review tab is available for registrants who are linked to a Camino Life account. If a registrant updated or added information to any Camino-linked fields during the registration process, those changes will appear here for your review — before anything is changed in your database.
Data Review - Overview
You'll see the household name, registrant name, and the number of changes they submitted. Click the Review Differences icon to see a side-by-side breakdown of each change, including:
  • The Camino field that was updated
  • The current value in Camino
  • The value the registrant submitted
From there, you can approve the change — which updates your Camino database — or decline it, leaving your existing record untouched.

Camino Custom Forms

Event Custom Forms are Here!

Every parish and diocesan event has its own registration needs — a marriage prep retreat might need household and member details for a couple, while a mission trip might need emergency contacts, dietary restrictions, and signed waivers. Camino's new Form Designer gives you full control over that experience, letting you build custom registration forms field by field, tailored to exactly what each event requires — no outside form tools or manual data entry needed.

Accessing Form Designer:
Once you select an existing event through Events > Administration, you'll have the option to select the Form Designer tab and begin creating a custom form for your event.

As covered in the Event Creation breakdown, each Registration Type starts with a unique template in Form Designer. In our example, we'll continue working with the "Couple" registration type for our Marriage Preparation Retreat.

Form Designer Layout
When you enter Form Designer, you'll be greeted with this screen:
Form Designer

On the left of the top bar are the undo and redo buttons. Centered on that bar are the preview icons for previewing the form on a computer or phone screen. Below that are the two main sections: the form itself and the Assets section on the right.

The form will default to showing the event name at the top, with the event date below it. After that, there will be at minimum one of two sections — Family Information or Member Information. Since our example is a couple's event, both sections will appear. Below that will be discount codes and cost breakdowns, if the event has a cost associated with it. Finally, the bottom of the form will always include a comment section for the registrant to leave any specific comments.

Within the Assets section, there are three types of assets: Camino Household, Camino Member, and Standard Controls.

Camino Household Assets are household-level information that will autopopulate from a linked Camino Life profile.
Camino Member Assets are member-level information that will autopopulate from a linked Camino Life profile.
Standard Controls are custom fields you can create to accommodate any type of form input you're looking to build.

Note: Household Assets and Member Assets can only be placed in their corresponding section.

Any form box containing the Camino logo is a piece of information that will autopopulate for the registrant if they're registering through a linked Camino Life account. This can dramatically increase the convenience of signing up for parish and diocese events. If there's no linked Camino account, the user will need to type in the information themselves.
Camino Life Field

Standard Controls are custom fields you can place to create any unique field required for your specific event. Further down, we'll break down each of these individual fields.

For every asset in the Assets menu, there are options specific to that asset, as well as a set of universal options.
Universal Asset Options

  • Required: This checkbox sets the field as required. The registrant won't be able to submit their registration without filling out marked fields.
  • Label: All Standard Control assets allow you to give a title to the input field, shown on the registration form.
  • Tooltip: This text appears when the user hovers their mouse over the field.
  • Width: Set to 1 or 2 for how many slots the field takes up horizontally on your form. On mobile, the max width will be 1, but longer fields may wrap as needed.
  • Maximum Length: For text fields, set the maximum number of characters allowed.
  • Minimum and Maximum Values: Fields such as currency, time, and date allow you to set minimum and maximum values a user can select.
  • Show Conditionally: Set a field to appear only based on the input of another field. Example: a checkbox for "Baptized" can be set so "Baptism Date" only appears if the member is marked as baptized. This allows for a great deal of flexibility in how you build your forms.\
Placing Assets and Editing Your Form:
To place assets into your form, select and drag them from the Assets menu onto the form and drop them into the spot you'd like them to appear. Some assets, such as Address and Consent Agreement, have preset sizing and formatting that will appear automatically once placed.
Anytime you see the six dots next to an asset block, you can drag that field up or down on your form. A black X removes the row. Selecting "+ New Row" adds a row to your form.

Note: Some rows cannot be moved out of their Family or Member sections.
You can bring up the properties of any field by clicking on it in the form. This will bring up the controllable settings for the selected field.
Standard Control Asset Details

  • Text Field: Allows input of a custom single line of text from the registrant.
  • Multi-Line Text Field: A larger text field that allows for multiple lines of wrapped text input.
  • Number Field: An input field that only allows whole number inputs. You can select to make 0 a valid entry.
  • Currency Field: An input field that allows numerical amounts up to two decimals, converted to USD.
  • Dropdown: Create a selection input with a number of custom dropdown options.
  • Multi-Select: Create multiple selections where a user can select one or more options at a time. Under properties, you can set the minimum number of selections registrants must make.
  • Date: Allows the user to input a date or select one from a calendar. Options include excluding weekdays or weekends, and allowing or disallowing future or past dates.
  • Time: Allows the user to input a time or select one from a clock.
  • Link: Input a clickable link on the registration form. If this field is required, Camino can track whether the registrant clicked the link.
  • Consent Agreement: Allows the user to review consent agreement text and check "I Agree" at the end of each agreement. You can copy your consent agreement language into the field using standard editing options.
Consent Agreement

Reminder: any fields placed under the Member section will show for each individual member registrant, while fields placed under Household will appear only once for the full registration. This is important to keep in mind for registration types such as Couple and One or More Members in Same Family, since these will register multiple members from a single household.

When your form is ready, click Save in the top right corner. You can always preview your form from the Form Designer screen, and once saved, the form will also be viewable through the link provided on the Event screen.

Camino Events Module

Camino has introduced a new module: Events!

Managing event registration for diocesan and parish gatherings — retreats, marriage prep, group events, mission trips— has traditionally meant juggling paper forms, spreadsheets, and manual follow-up. Camino's new Events module brings that entire process into the database, letting dioceses and parishes build custom registration forms, manage capacity and waitlists, include discount codes, and track registrants, all in one place.

TURNING ON EVENTS:

The Right Rights:
To gain access to this module you will first need to add the user rights to your System Admin Account. Navigate to Administration > Users and Roles > Roles > System Admin. Select all the Event associated rights and move them over to Chosen Rights.
Adding Event Rights

Camino Life Integration:
Since the new events forms require Camino Life integration. For Parishes this must be turned on in Administration > Parish > Camino Life Checkbox
Camino Life Checkbox

Once these two steps are completed the Events Module will appear on the Left sidebar of Camino. Under Events there are two categories: Administration & Registration. To create an event we will begin under Administration.

EVENT CREATION:
To create a new Event we will navigate to Administration and Select "New Event" in the top right corner. This will bring us to the Event Details screen.
Event Creation

From here we enter the information for our event. For this example, we will do a Couple's Marriage Preparation Retreat held by the Diocese. Under Basic Settings we must enter the required fields. Giving it a name and description, selecting the category it falls under, the status and the type or registration this event requires.

Important Note: Registration Type has a specific effect on how the Event forms and registrations work for the event. This category is particularly important so we will look at each group in detail.

• Couple: For a couple’s event the registration will have a Household details section and then two member’s information sections on the form, one for each member of the couple. If using Camino Life, When the Head of Household Registers the Co-Head’s information will be directly populated.
• Family: This event type is collecting information on the Household as a whole. It will gather household level information and no member details required.
• Individual: This registration will be for a singular member at a time. The household information and member information may be required but only one person will be able to be registered at a time.
• One or More Members in Same Family: This will register individuals but Households will be able to register more than one individual from their family at a time. They will have the option on the registration form to select “Add Member Section” to include more members during their registration. This will helpful for families with multiple kids and allows them to register everyone at once and not type in repeated information multiple times.
Event Administration

As we continue down our Event details the next section, we come to in setting the Event Schedule. We can either set the event to take place on a specific day or a date range if it is an extended event. We can also set a custom schedule which allows you to pick your starting range and give the registrants details on what the schedule will be.

For our example this even will take place as a singular day on August 15th. It will start at 8:00 AM and end at 8:00 PM.

The next sections we will look at is Registration details and Event Capacity.  We can select a range of time that the event registration will be open. Since our event is August 15th we will have registration open from July 1st to August 8th, to give our team a week of preparation with an exact count.

We have two checkboxes at the end of this section.

• Register Through Parish: This allows parish to register members through the Camino Database. Examples could be DREs being able to sign up a group of kids for a diocese event through Camion instead of requiring the families to register them all individually. If checked, Parishes will see these events under their Events Modules with a “Diocese Events Category.” This DOES NOT exclude members from registering them through Camino Life, just allows the option for Parishes to also register members.
• Require Registration Approval: This requires each registration to be approved through Camino prior to the member being officially registered for the event.

With Event capacity you can select the maximum number of people you want to allow to register for an event. You have the ability to allow a wait list or not for the event.

• If waitlist is selected it will allow registrants past the capacity limit and notify them the event is full and they are registering onto a waitlist.
• If there is no waitlist the event option will not show as available on Camino Life once it is full. Any users to access the registration list for the event will be notified that the event is full.
• If Capacity is set to 0 it signifies to the system that there is no Capacity Cap and will allow registrations through the set time period.
Registration, Capacity, Pricing and Payments, Access and Admin

Pricing and Payments is the next section we come to. If the event has no cost, you can leave this section as it is and move to Access and Admin. If the event does include a cost, you can enter the cost per person into the first space. Once something is placed in that field new options will be available. You can set a max cost per family. This is particularly useful for events where you have selected “One or More Members in Same Family” as the Event Type. Since ours is a couple’s retreat these fields won’t matter much to us. (Note: Max cost per family must be greater than cost per person. For Couple type events it cannot be greater than twice the cost per person.)

Another great addition to Events is the introduction of Discount Codes. You are able to create discount codes for your registrants to input that can reduce the cost by either a static amount of a percentage of the cost. These codes can be set to be effective for a certain amount of time as well. For this example, we built an Early Bird discount code. Any member who registers between the dates of July 1st and 15th will be able to have $5 off their registration.

Note: Diocese and Parishes will be responsible for distributing these codes out along with the registration information to these events. Users will only be able to enter a single code at a time.

Finally, the Access and Admin section is to set which users can access this event within Camino and who has the ability to edit its information. There are separate inputs for View and Edit rights. This is similar to other sections within Camino.

When all these sections have been completed, we can save. We will be greeted with a notification telling us the event has been saved and the link which the registration can be found at. That link will also be available in the Basic Settings Section after the save. Clicking the link icon will copy the link address for you.

Registration Link
Once the Event is saved, we are presented with a new tab. Form Designer. For a complete breakdown on how to use the Form Designed please click here: https://camino-feedback.diocesan.com/updates/camino-custom-forms

Parish Level Update

Camino Updates - June 2026

New Parish Parameters Options

Camino's Parish Parameters now includes two new settings to help customize your experience: Default Household and Member View and Starting Envelope Number.
New Parish Parameters

1.  Default Household and Member View
Households View Filters
You can now set a default view for your Household and Member screens at the parish level. Since every parish is different — varying in size and membership — this setting lets you choose the view that works best for your team without having to adjust it each time.

2.   Starting Envelope Number
Envelope Number Pull-down

Envelope numbering isn't always straightforward. Your next needed number may not follow sequentially from the last one saved, and your parish may only work within a specific numeric range — making the lowest available number unhelpful as a default.

With the Starting Envelope Number setting, you can define where your envelope number range begins. Here's how it works:
  • The top suggestion will always be the next available number after the last envelope number you entered and saved in a household.
  • The following suggestions will be available numbers starting from your configured Starting Envelope Number in Parish Parameters.
This ensures the options you see by default are relevant to your parish's actual numbering practices.

Other Enhancements:

Improved Fund Search in Batch Contributions
Fund Search
Searching for a fund while entering batch contributions is now much more flexible. Previously, the search only matched the first character of a fund name. You can now search by any part of the name, making it faster and easier to find the fund you need.

Prevent Accidental Role Inactivation
Active Setting on User Role
You can no longer inactivate the role you are currently logged in as. This safeguard prevents users from accidentally locking themselves out of the system. The inactivation option will appear grayed out for your active role.

Camino Updates - "Also Active In" Update

Identify Household Types at a Glance in the Also Active In Section

There are now individual Icons for Parish Household, School Household, and Formation Household when viewing the "Also Active in These Parishes" section of the Household Screen.
EXAMPLE HOUSEHOLD SCREEN
The "Also Active in These Parishes" section on the Household Screen now displays individual icons for Parish, School, and Formation Households. When a household is active at multiple parishes, each entry shows the relevant icon, and hovering over any icon reveals additional detail. This makes it easy to understand a parishioner's full set of affiliations at a glance.

Camino Updates - May 2026

Parish Level Updates:

User settings within Camino:
  • Within the User screen of Camino there are options to "Enable Two Factor Authentication (2FA)" as well as a location to input a cell phone number. If that checkbox is checked and a cell phone number is entered it will default to an SMS multifactor authentication. If the box is checked without a cell phone number input it will default to a email multifactor authentication.
  • Since email address is the username for Diocesan's Single Sign, email address is now a read only field within a user screen. If a user needs to sign in with a new email address they will need to have a new user account created and the old user deleted.
  • There is now an option to link the user with a Camino member profile.
User Screen Post-Save

Household "Also Active In" Information:

On the household screen you will now see a new piece of information. If the household is listed as an Active Household at another Camino parish within your diocese you will be able to see that on their household screen. If the member is not active at any other parish this field will not appear. Example Below:
MAY1.png 91.28 KB

New Baptism Information Field:

There is a new optional field under the Baptism Sacrament tab: Mothers Name for Certificate.

Baptism certificates typically call for the father's full name and the mother's full name including her maiden name. In many cases, however, only the last name is stored — making merge field certificates and printed documents awkward. This new field gives parishes a dedicated place to enter the mother's name exactly as they want it to appear on the certificate, alongside the existing father's name field.

Anointing of the Sick Delete Button:

It is now easier to delete accidental Anointing of the Sick records. Previously, you had to select the specific instance and scroll to the bottom of the record to delete it. We've moved the delete button to the summary screen for each individual instance, making removal quicker when needed.

Formation Report: Portuguese Language Option Available

We've included Portuguese as an option on our online formation registration forms.

Emergency Contacts:

There are new rules in place in Camino regarding emergency contacts and new entries through Formation. When a member already has an emergency contact and a new contact is added through the formation registration, the newly added contact will become the primary contact. If the emergency contact entered through formation registration is already in Camino a new contact will not be created as to avoid duplicates.
